Who we are and why we care.

Our consultancy is an environmental organisation servicing the furniture and interiors markets. With 25 years experience in designing commercial textiles and interior furnishings, founder Karie was struggling with waste, pollution, overstocks and sampling in the industry she is passionate about. For major change to happen education alongside implementation of new processes is critical and urgent.

By getting back to basics, rethinking the way products and packaging are designed are key, to moving away from the linear processes of ‘take, make, dispose’. The team are passionate about empowering the industry towards a circular culture in a regenerative economy.

The Circular Design Thinking process is at the foundation of change. By reinterpreting the way products are designed, waste can be utilised as an asset. Chemicals of concern and virgin materials can be phased out and new innovative and renewable materials can take their place.

Yet product is only one aspect. The values and missions of a business are integral to this movement. Understanding social behaviours, ethics, supply chain and the carbon footprint of an organisation also needs to be addressed.

The question for all is, how do we improve the planet for this generation and the next, whilst still making beautiful objects?

Our team is made up of experienced and dedicated human beings who want to make sure their kids and loved ones have a future.

Delivering real behavioural change within the furniture, textile and interiors industry is CDT’s ultimate goal. A combination of the rationale, emotional and immediate realities is making this happen. CDT is inspired to see manufacturers, retailers, brand owners and industry bodies, working together to create new and better solutions for all.

The team’s curiosity to find solutions and initiatives to achieve their mission, is what constantly drives them.
